Fantastic Sams franchise owners from across the country met up in Orlando, Florida, in September, to gather for the 2016 Fantastic Sams Franchise Convention. Under the theme “Moving Forward Together,” President and CEO Linda Chadwick presented franchise owners with an ambitious vision for the future.
“Our goal is always to be the Number One salon of choice because we have the best value, the best guest service and the most creative stylists in the industry,” Linda told franchisees. To that end, Fantastic Sams has undertaken a number of strategic initiatives, including developing new training programs for stylists, a new national marketing campaign and vital partnerships with industry leaders such as TIGI and SexyHair.
The initiatives go hand-in-hand with a brand-wide redesign, overhauling product lines and advertising, service consultations, training programs and even the salon experience itself.
New models, new marketing highlight diversity of 2017 campaign
When Fantastic Sams rolls out its new nationwide marketing materials and support next year, our new look and logo will take center stage alongside four models chosen to highlight our diversity of services to a broad audience.
Each of the models selected represent a subset of the clients we serve. For women, our models feature a hip, edgy professional woman and a fresh-out-of-service veteran who’s ready to show off her feminine side. For the men’s lineup, we showcase a working man who wants to step up his style and a professional man who needs to maintain that clean-cut look for work while also remaining stylish. We’ve even selected a pair of teen models to underscore that Fantastic Sams is the salon for the whole family.
These models will appear in print and video ads alongside the new Fantastic Sams logo, redesigned product lines and our New Image Salon, emphasizing our commitment to remain the most innovative hair salon franchise concept on the market. That we’ve chosen three strong males to model hairstyles alongside three chic female models just goes to show how big a part of our business men’s styling services are.
Franchise owners explore New Image Salon with Project Up Do
For many Conference 2016 attendees, the highlight of the show was our New Image Salon display, which is at the heart of our top-to-bottom brand refresh we call Project Up Do. The full-size salon mockup served as the centerpiece of our show floor and featured all of the latest design elements from Project Up Do, and the display marked the first time that many of our franchise owners got to take a look at the sleek, ultra-modern salon.
Designed over the course of a year and in partnership with Kaemark Millworks, the New Image Salon represents the first major redesign of our salon’s look and feel in more than 15 years. Gone are the dark tones and heavy wood interiors and, in their place are cool, crisp lines, bright lighting and a bold, black-white-and-red color palette. Lead designer Josh Droegemueller and the design team laid out a series of high bars for the new salon design — all with growing our customer base and revenue in mind.
“Ultimately the goal was to step up to an iconic design that, when clients see it, they know it is Fantastic Sams,” Josh says. “We wanted to push products and push color with a fresh look, and, ultimately, we succeeded.”
Sam Murray takes home inaugural Horizons Award
For a little more than a year now, Sam Murray has held two distinctions — he’s one of our newest franchise owners and he is the first owner of the New Image Salon. In addition, Sam serves on the Franchisee Advisory Council, where he brings the perspective of a new franchisee to bear on the council’s work.
Sam is an amazing entrepreneur and a great brand ambassador for Fantastic Sams. He’s both a part of his Mint Hill, North Carolina, community and a valued contributor to the Fantastic Sams franchise family. Because of his commitment to our brand and our team, Sam is the 2016 recipient of the brand new Horizon Award.
This award will be given annually to the individual who best exemplifies our brand by staying involved in their home community while also showcasing the Fantastic Sams values and a commitment to growing our iconic hair salon franchise brand. For our inaugural Horizon Award, we could think of no one who more meets those criteria than Sam.
