FS Cut & Color Franchise FAQ

Answers to the most frequently asked questions about opening a FS Cut & Color Franchise

Franchise Ownership FAQ

Considering opening a FS Cut & Color franchise? We’ve compiled answers to the most common questions prospective franchisees have about the process, ownership models, and the support we provide. Whether you’re curious about investment details, training, or day-to-day operations, this FAQ page will help guide you as you explore becoming part of the FS Cut & Color family.

Is Multi-Unit Ownership Possible?

While many franchisees begin with a single FS Cut & Color location, the majority expand to own multiple units. This is due to the long-term stability of the beauty industry, and FS Cut & Color makes multi-unit ownership more accessible through financial incentives, such as 3-pack and 5-pack options, and strong partnerships with reliable banking and financial institutions.

What are the Start-Up Costs?

The initial cost to open a FS Cut & Color franchise is affordable for many investors. We look for franchisees with a minimum net worth of $300,000 and at least $50,000 in liquid capital. Additional financing can be obtained through various financial and lending institutions of your choice.

New franchisees can choose to start with a single salon or take advantage of FS Cut & Color multi-unit incentives by entering into a 3-pack or 5-pack agreement.

What Makes a Good Location?

Convenience is key when choosing a location for our salons. FS Cut & Color thrives in high-traffic shopping centers, especially those anchored by major retailers or grocery stores, where families frequently shop multiple times a week. It’s important to select spaces with free parking for added convenience.

Our support team assists franchisees in identifying prime locations by reviewing and evaluating potential sites, leveraging our established relationships with commercial brokers. Each salon should have enough space for eight chairs, shampoo stations, a front desk, and a product storage area, typically requiring between 1,000 to 1,400 square feet.

Do I need to be Involved Full-Time?

Yes! After the initial training period, Franchisees are not required to be involved in the daily salon operations. The role would become one where you manage the manager. After building a team you trust, the day-to-day operations of running your FS Cut & Color Franchise will be off of your plate and you can focus on your responsibilities as a business owner.

Is Hair Care Experience Needed?

No! Anyone can find success with the FS Cut & Color Franchise model – no hair industry experience necessary. We provide the training and support but our best franchisees are those who come prepared with an entrepreneurial spirit, ready to lead and grow their own team towards success! We help you build a team of industry experts and you get to focus on your own passion of managing and building a business.

Why Should I Consider a Hair Salon Franchise?

  • Proven business model: The business model is already developed and tested, so you don’t need to start from scratch.
  • Established brand: You can benefit from the brand’s reputation and loyal customer base.
  • Training and support: Franchisors provide training, marketing, and operational support.
  • Location flexibility: You can choose a location that suits your target market and business goals.
  • Lower risk: Franchises are generally less risky than starting a new business.
  • Steady revenue: Hair salons have a steady stream of recurring revenue from clients who need haircuts regularly.
  • Low inventory: Hair salons require minimal inventory, which can reduce overhead costs.

What is the FS Cut & Color Franchise Training?

Our ‘Best in Class Training’ offers a combination of classroom, online, and on-the-job training to ensure franchisee and salon success. Franchisee and manager training consists of 3-5 days of focused instruction, either in-person or online. For stylists, the Grand Opening Technical Training provides 3 days of hands-on or online instruction. For the salon team, training covers FS Cut & Color guest service, on-trend technical skills, retail education, and FS Cut & Color shampoo therapy, ensuring everyone is equipped to deliver an exceptional salon experience.
